In business, there are few challenges greater than having to start again from scratch. For The Sticky Toffee Pudding Co Ltd, that became a reality following a devastating fire in July 2025, which destroyed the company's production facility and equipment.

Rather than giving up, Janice and Tom Park made the courageous decision to rebuild. After securing new premises in Strathaven, Lanarkshire, the business began fitting out its new production facility in March 2026. Just a month later, production resumed, allowing the company to resume supplying all of its original customers.

Today, The Sticky Toffee Pudding Co supplies customers across much of Scotland and the North of England's foodservice sector, alongside major retailers including Morrisons and SPAR Scotland. The business is also in discussions with Sainsbury's as it continues its recovery and growth. With six members of staff currently employed, the team expects to expand as production returns to previous levels.

Before the fire, the company was producing up to 30,000 portions of its renowned Sticky Toffee Pudding every week.

Rebuilding the business meant replacing every piece of equipment.

"Having lost everything in the fire, we had to start completely from scratch," explains Janice. "Some of the equipment had to be sourced from Italy, while other items came from suppliers we'd worked with and trusted for many years."

Among those suppliers was Invicta. The company ordered more than 80 deep non-stick coated baking trays, each capable of producing 60 portions of Sticky Toffee Pudding in a single bake. Choosing Invicta again was an easy decision, having relied on the same style of trays for the previous 14 years.

"Before the fire, we used Invicta's trays for our entire production and never had to replace them," says Janice. "As production grew, we simply bought more. They are exceptionally durable, very high quality and excellent value for money.

"We also used Invicta's perforated trays for our Handmade Shortbread Co business for 14 years, and again, we never needed to replace them.

"When you've experienced something as devastating as losing your business, dealing with suppliers who genuinely care makes a real difference. The staff at Invicta were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout. It was a very difficult time, and it meant a great deal to work with people who showed genuine compassion as well as professionalism."

Although the company previously operated both The Sticky Toffee Pudding Co Ltd and The Handmade Shortbread Co Ltd, the rebuilding process provided an opportunity to focus entirely on the Sticky Toffee Pudding brand.

With production now firmly back underway, the business is once again supplying customers with the products they know and love, while laying the foundations for future growth.
