PRESERVING A SIGNATURE BAKE: NEW TINS FOR THE BROWN BEAN BAKERY
Based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, The Brown Bean has been a well-known name in local baking since it was established in 2003. Originally an independent café, the business evolved in 2020 − during the challenges of Covid − to focus solely on its bakery operation. Today, the business operates with a dedicated team of around ten people, supplying a range of cafés and retail outlets with freshly baked goods including breads, scones and traybakes.
Among its most popular products is its traditional wheaten bread − a Northern Irish speciality that has become a firm customer favourite. Maintaining the distinctive shape and consistency of this loaf has always been an important part of the brand.
When the bakery decided it was time to replace the original bread tins − after nearly 20 years of use − it was essential that the new tins matched the existing ones exactly. The size was non-standard, carefully suited to both their recipe and oven configuration, so a bespoke solution was required.
Invicta worked closely with The Brown Bean to produce 120 custom-made tins, ensuring every detail was replicated to preserve the bakery’s signature product.

As owner Josh Paul explains:
“We wanted to keep everything exactly the same − our loaves are known for their shape and the tins fit perfectly in our ovens. Invicta gave great service from the initial quotation through to delivery and communication was excellent throughout. The team were friendly, responsive and keen to help in every way.
“The quality of the finished tins is also spot on. They’ve gone straight into use, and we’re looking forward to many years of reliable performance from them. We’re very happy with the order and will definitely be using Invicta again.”
The project highlights the importance of getting the details right − supporting a well-established product while ensuring the business can continue to operate efficiently for years to come.
