Our 2.0mm aluminium baking sheets are of a grade we have used for many years specifically for its high level of durability within the bakery market. Unlike some other grades of aluminium it does not soften when subjected to the high temperatures reached during the application of some non-stick coatings.
With a 762mmx 457mm x 2.0mm aluminium baking sheet weighing approximately 2 kg against approximately 5kg for a 1.5mm aluminised steel baking sheet, aluminium baking sheets are appreciatively lighter to use, reducing the risks of fatigue and accident. Aluminium is also a more efficient conductor of heat than steel, and does not carry the same risk of corrosion. However, if a more robust tray and/or slower heat transfer is required, we also manufacture baking sheets in mild steel, aluminised steel (mild steel coated with aluminium) and stainless steel.
